Ethnic minorities such as the Rohingya have been subjected to widespread discrimination, persecution, and ethnic cleansing for decades in Myanmar (Burma). The ongoing Rohingya genocide has led to one of the world's largest refugee crises, with over a million people fleeing to Bangladesh.
